LEATHER CARE 2018-04-18T11:10:58+05:30

Copperhyde products are handcrafted from high quality vegetable-tanned leather. Being a natural and environment sensitive material leather requires some care to preserve its beauty and durability. A careful use over the years will help in developing a nice patina on the leather and preserve its subtleness.

Excessive heat may cause leather to crack, dry out or change color. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat and direct sunlight.
Leather being a natural material, will never be waterproof. Always keep out of heavy rain and prolonged moisture exposure. Sustained moisture exposure can cause unwanted spots and discoloration that may not be corrected. If your leather item does get wet, pat dry with dry cotton cloth or paper towel and keep it in dry place away from direct sunlight.
Avoid contact with oil or oil based products as leather absorbs oil quickly resulting in discoloration and spot formation that is difficult to clear.
Always store your leather items in Copperhyde anti-dust bag in a cool & dry place away from direct sunlight or heat.

Use a good quality leather conditioner every 5-6 months to avoid excessive dryness or cracking. Apply a small amount of conditioner to a soft cotton cloth and rub it on an inconspicuous area first to see how the leather reacts to it. If satisfied with the reaction of the conditioner on the spot tested area, use circular motion to apply the conditioner evenly over an entire section of the leather. After 2-3 minutes buff the leather surface with soft, dry cloth. Air dry the article for few hours before using.
